The existing Federation details became an important part of the new design. Arched openings, decorative cornices, traditional joinery and the long central hallway were retained and restored, giving the home a strong sense of history and continuity. Beyond the original rooms, the house opens into an expansive new kitchen, dining and living space designed around light and connection to the garden. A dramatic vaulted ceiling with exposed rafters and multiple skylights brings natural light deep into the interior, while wide openings create an effortless transition to the outdoor entertaining areas. The result is a substantial home that feels bright, elegant and beautifully resolved — a complete transformation that respects the architectural character of the original Mosman Federation villa while giving it a new life for contemporary living
